Oh, are we busy! And when we're not we're enjoying the summer weather that is hitting the Pacific Northwest with a lovely heat wave right now. We'll get back into more regular posting soon but until then here are some links to keep you busy:

Another study out telling us what we know already - breastfeeding is full of benefits!

Here's a totally incredible story about a married couple finding out that they met when they were little children at Disney. They have pics to prove it!

You know the teen that attempted to sail around the world? Salon had an article about her from a parenting perspective. Would you let your kid do it?

My little guy LOVES to pull the little mouse off my work laptop and slowly move it towards his mouth like he's going to gobble it up. That's scary but so is what he could do to my email and files! Ohdeedoh posted about two programs that will save us from the latter at least.

Have a great weekend!

It's still raining here. I can't muster up anything positive to say about that so let's just move on to the links and stuff we're loving this week and hope for some sun breaks.

A great follow to our meal planning post yesterday, 5dollardinners has a post on a grocery budget makeover. Lots of great stuff on that site.

Have you seen Btoys line at Target yet? I'm trying to think of excuses to buy them for all the kids I know. The packaging is amazing and the toys are so stink'n cute! Lucky for me Brady's birthday is in a few days - the perfect excuse to buy one of these! I also want these beads for Margeaux but have to figure out how to keep them up so Brady doesn't eat them.

The Difference Between Relaxation and Refreshment at Steady Mom was an "ohhhh yeaahhhh" read for me this week.

The Sunscreen Mess article at Ain't No Mom Jeans was a good overview of what is, indeed, a big mess. She's also got a good one up right now about finding a good bathing suit for your mama body.

I'm loving this Family Memory Tray Kit via Ali Edwards. SO cute. I know right where I'd hang it. The scrapbooker in me needs more time!

Have a great weekend!

Oh, TGIF! Double TGIF since it's the Friday before a three-day weekend! Finally! Here are the links that caught our attention this week:

Toddlers who tell lies early on are more likely to do well later, researchers claim. So, don't worry if your little one is telling a whopper now and then!

Ahhhh...Photoshop Beauty Cream. Don't believe what you see in print!

This cracked me up and made me feel "normal" - A collage of all the junk this mama found when cleaning out her minivan. We are not alone!

The buzz about the NY Times mommy blogger article is dying down but I'm still stumbling upon people's responses. I liked this down to earth take from Metropolitan Mama - How Social Media Has Made Me a Better Mother.

Have a great weekend!

Great idea over at Parent Hacks about reusing ziplock bags as sealable car garbage bags. My car currently smells like the banana peel that's in the small trash bag there now. Using a ziplock would help...or maybe I should just clean out the car!

Over at mint's blog, they are talking about why it's important to teach your children about money. Great stats about how early kids really start dealing with money but aren't really taught how to do it.

Ever had something important ruined by your little ones? Yeah, us too. Apparently we're not alone. Shit My Kids Ruined documents the atrocities. Hilarious!

Mother's Day Giveaway
Another busy week under our belts. Don't forget there are only two more days to enter the mama mantrass™ Mother's Day Giveaway. Enter to win!

Here are the links we found this week on the web:

Loving these super cute (and free!) kind cards at Kind Over Matter! I printed some and have passed a few to Margeaux - she's loving them and tucks them away in her little red wallet.

Making a disaster kit is one of those things that's been on my list for ages. Totally need to do it. Seattle Mama Doc blogs and video tapes her process with getting her family's kit up and going. Great, honest, post about being overwhelmed and how they broke it down.

Love the idea of No Mess finger paints over at mama smiles. Definitely going to have to keep this activity in mind. I think even the littlest kids could do this.

We're always looking for ways to optimize our shopping budget. Marlynn at lola's table posted a great breakdown of one shopping trip that will make food for her family for one month. Amazing!

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
